Staff: Alana Gorman-Knutson
Alana is a second year Master’s student at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work, at Washington University in St. Louis. She is completing two semesters of practicum study with ILSI, in the fall of 2011 and spring of 2012. Originally from Seattle, Alana traveled to Guatemala, Mexico, Belize, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia directly after high school. In 2008 she received her B.A. in International and Global Studies: Art, Media and Communications from Brandeis University in Boston. During this time she spent half a year in Dakar, Senegal as part of her studies. She is fluent in Spanish, French and conversational in Wolof. She is interested in immigration policy, international law, human rights, community arts and development, migration and expressive therapies.
